Directions & Transportation
MaxFunCon will be held at the UCLA Lake Arrowhead Conference Center, in Lake Arrowhead, California, about two hours east of Los Angeles in the San Bernadino mountains.

We encourage you to make carpool plans and share rides to the venue, which ranges from about an hour to about two hours from Southern California's major airports. Come spring, we'll be organizing airport-to-Con carpools and possibly vans on the MaxFun Forums. We'll also be offering at least one van from the Ontario airport. Round-trip on the van will cost around $40.

Flying

If you're flying in, the closest major airport is Ontario, California, which is serviced by most major airlines (including the bargain carrier Southwest). If you wish to fly into Los Angeles, Burbank is significantly closer than LAX. We recommend Ontario if possible, as it will help you avoid Los Angeles traffic during rush hour on Friday (you'll only have to deal with Inland Empire traffic).

For the sake of sanity, friendship and the environment, we encourage you to carpool with fellow attendees, both from the airports and from the Los Angeles area. We may also offer a group transportation option from the Ontario airport, but it will likely carry some additional cost. If that's what you'd prefer, let us know (jesse at maximumfun.org) so we can get a sense of numbers and get some estimates from transportation companies. Carpools can be arranged on the MaxFunCon Forum.
